Baby Boomer Recreational Program Focuses On Activities That Will Encourage Healthy Living
Baby Boomer Recreational Program While you are busy contemplating or executing the presented financial related approaches, please make sure you are keeping one eye on the recreational aspect of your life. Do have a Baby Boomer Recreational Program.
To really enjoy your life during retirement, you need to be financially secured as well physically secured, and to do that you must have a good recreational plan. I don’t like to use the word “exercise” plan because it sounds like work to me.I will use my current recreational activities as examples. I did talked about the activity with my physician and he concurred. Currently, I am jogging almost every afternoon around 4 or 5 pm., not very fast of course. I usually jog for twenty to thirty minutes. My physician has encouraged me to maintain a thirty-minutes session. For thirty minutes, you can expect some real sweating and some refreshing feeling afterward. Few years back I had time to do this activity only during weekend, but now I have more time, so I do it almost everyday.
Another recreational activity that I enjoy doing is playing a musical instrument, a classical guitar. I have been playing and taking lessons for a year now. This is something I had always wanted to do in my teenager years but could not, too busy with schools and everything else. Now I love it. I can play one Beetles song, “Yesterday “ quite well. I do believe that playing musical instrument can keep your brain healthy. You can check this article, “Playing Music Can be Good for Your Brain- A Stanford U. Study”, from http://digg.com/general_sciences/Playing_Music_Can_Be_Good_For_Your_Brain, 03-04-08. You really put your brain to work when you use one hand to strum the strings and using the other hand to press the strings (on frets) correctly, while keep both eyes on the musical note.
Believe me, if your mind starts wondering off you would miss strumming the strings or miss pressing strings on guitar frets. When you play music, it almost like a form of meditation. It can sure make you relax and lets you forget all your troubles for a while. Learn to relax and forget your troubles for a while can keep you young. You can check this out with your physicians.
